The treatment of ear diseases on your own is highly discouraged, the wrong choice of a drug will only lead to a temporary relief of the symptoms of the disease, while the disease will develop and lead to complications.

Types of Ear Diseases

The main diseases of the ear are:

  • otitis media;
  • mechanical damage to the eardrum;
  • sulphuric cork;
  • boils;
  • acute otitis;
  • sepsis;

Otitis is an ear disease in children and adults that occurs most often. It is a purulent inflammation of the middle and outer ear. The reasons are a lack of sulfur, trauma, a consequence of infectious diseases, rhinitis. The main symptoms are severe headache and earache, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, fever.

Sepsis is a purulent inflammation that occurs due to the penetration of an infectious agent into the body. Treatment of sepsis includes surgical drainage of purulent congestion.

Neuritis is a violation of sound perceptions. Symptoms include constant tinnitus, as a consequence of prolonged use of antibiotics, infectious diseases, the intoxication of the body. Treatment for neuritis requires immediate hospitalisation.

The inflammatory process in the middle ear is the most serious condition, which, without timely treatment, can lead to the development of diseases such as meningitis, sepsis, and brain abscess. Symptoms include vomiting, severe pain in the head and ears. If the disease has progressed to a chronic stage, there is a high risk of complete hearing loss.

Treatment of Ear Diseases

Any ear diseases, the treatment of which was not carried out on time, can lead to very serious pathologies. In the early stages of the development of ear diseases, conservative treatment is used, ear drops are prescribed, which only the attending physician selects. In the case of exacerbation of the diseases, in most cases, surgery is required.

Do not forget about the careful observance of personal hygiene. To clean the ear canals from earwax, cotton buds must be used very carefully, excessively deep insertion of them can injure the eardrum and provoke an inflammatory process.

If there is an earwax plug in the ears, they should be removed only in the doctor’s office. You can use cotton buds only to clean the outer part of the ear since all dirt and sulfur particles are pushed even further into the ear canal with this cleaning method.

Do not forget about the observance of simple preventive measures that will help to avoid many ear diseases – protect your ears and head from drafts, use the right methods to cleanse the ear canal from earwax, and treat infectious diseases timely.
